Andreas Stahel Solo

Andreas Stahel Solo programme: Flutes and Voice

The compositions hover in a stylistic border zone between minimal music, ambient and contemporary classic. Long-lasting, planar sonic tapestries are created using circular breathing, spawning sounds and grooves that are reminiscent of electronic music but retain the direct expressive strength of acoustic instruments. Due to the repetition and starkly reduced sound palette, the music is on the one hand monotonous, but on the other, dynamic and complex thanks to the multilayered polyphonic sounds and the uneven metres. The tension between these two poles creates a sort of magical maelstrom.

Ana Tajouiti / Andreas Stahel

The dancer/choreographer Ana Tajouiti and Andreas Stahel first got to know each other in 1996, whilst rehearsing together for the "Flautibiry" production. Since then they are a pair both on stage and off, and have already realised many projects together. In their improvisations they create out of the moment a sensational and astonishingly harmonious diversity.
